Crewe Alexandra will meet Crawley Town at Wembley in the battle for promotion to League One, and supporters can reserve a commemorative copy of the EFL’s official matchday programme.

The Alex saw off Doncaster Rovers in a dramatic penalty shootout, after overturning a two-goal first-leg deficit, to reach the showpiece occasion in the capital for the first time since 2011/12.

The Railwaymen, who ended the regular campaign sixth in the table, were relegated from the third-tier in 2021/22. They won just once in their final nine league games but will be hoping their new-found momentum under manager Lee Bell can continue under the famous Arch on Sunday 19th May.

The trip to the national stadium will be a landmark moment in the history of fellow finalists Crawley Town as they look forward to a first-ever visit to Wembley.

The Red Devils were resounding 8-1 aggregate winners over favourites Milton Keynes Dons in the semi-finals, after sneaking into the play-offs for the first time in the club’s history on the season’s final weekend at Barrow’s expense.

Crawley manager Scott Lindsey is hoping his history makers continue to upset the odds later this month as his West Sussex side aim to return to the third-tier for the first time since 2015.

Crewe completed a ‘league double’ in this season’s meetings between the two finalists, and haven’t lost a head-to-head since 2018, but the clash at Wembley is sure to prove a much tighter affair and a captivating contest with so much at stake.
