Motherwell v Rangers (Premier Sports Cup Semi-Final)
Fixture Date: 03/11/24
Competition: Premier Sports Cup Semi-Final 2024/25
Record competition winners Rangers will face Scottish Premiership rivals Motherwell in early November in the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals.
Philippe Clement’s holders stayed on course for retaining the competition’s silverware after a 3-0 win over Dundee at Ibrox earned them a final-four spot.
Rangers ended a 12-year wait last season by lifting the silverware for a record extending 28th time, and will want to be at the Hampden showpiece once again in December.
Their opponents Motherwell on Sunday 3rd November reached their first semi-final for six years after a stoppage-time penalty eliminated Dundee United.
Stuart Kettlewell’s side previously reached the competition’s final in 2017/18, yet they have to look back even further for the last time they etched their name onto the famous silverware, with the Steelmen victorious for the only occasion in their history in 1950.
The North Lanarkshire side may be underdogs but have pedigree in upsetting the odds after last March’s 2-1 win over Rangers.
This Premier Sports Cup semi-final clash is sure to be an enthralling affair and supporters can order the SPFL’s official matchday programme from the event.
