Hampden will stage a blockbuster showdown between Scottish Premiership rivals Hearts and Aberdeen in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup this April.

Seven-time competition winners Aberdeen, who last got their hands on the silverware in 1990, cruised into the last-four encounter after a 4-1 success against Championship side Queen’s Park. 

It earned the Dons a sixth semi-final appearance in the last nine seasons as Jimmy Thelin’s side –losing finalists in 2016/17 – look to end a promising campaign with something in the trophy cabinet.

The Aberdeenshire outfit will face a Hearts side lower than them in the top-flight table, but who they have drawn twice with in three encounters so far this campaign. 

The Edinburgh side eliminated Dundee to reach the semi-finals and will be determined to end a Hampden hoodoo in this competition after being runners-up in three of the last six Finals.

Neil Critchley’s Jambos are eight-time winners of the prestigious silverware, last collecting the honour in 2012, and will be determined to reach the showpiece occasion once again.
