League One rivals Peterborough United and Wycombe Wanderers will relish a rare Wembley clash to contest the Bristol Street Motors Trophy Final and supporters can pre-order a copy of the official matchday programme.

The Chairboys reserved a seat at the national stadium for their first EFL Trophy Final in early April, courtesy of a stoppage-time winner against Bradford City. It will be the Buckinghamshire outfit’s fourth visit under the Arch in a decade, having lost most recently in the 2021/22 League One play-off final.

Matt Bloomfield’s side, who overcame four Premier League Under-21 teams enroute to Wembley, have an impressive track-record against their finalist opponents. After a 2-2 draw in October, Wanderers were 5-2 winners over Peterborough when the sides last met in February and haven’t lost since 2020 to the Cambridgeshire side.

Posh though will be equally as confident of bringing silverware back to Weston Homes Stadium following an impressive campaign sees them challenging for play-off promotion in the upper echelons of the third-tier.

United cruised past Blackpool in the competition’s semi-finals and will be hoping to repeat their heroics of 2014 which saw them lift the trophy after a 3-1 victory over Chesterfield. Darren Ferguson was in charge that day and he will want to experience that Wembley elation once again in the competition with a side he has a long affinity with.
