St Johnstone v Celtic (Scottish Cup Semi-Final)
Fixture Date: 20/04/2
Competition: Scottish Cup Semi-Final 2025
Hampden will stage a blockbuster showdown between Scottish Premiership rivals St Johnstone and Celtic in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup this April.
The Glasgow giants are current holders of the silverware, following last season’s win over rivals Rangers, and will be favourites to stay the course and defend their crown for a third successive year.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are aiming to extend their phenomenal record in the competition by claiming a 43rd Scottish Cup title, having lifted the prestigious silverware in six of the last eight campaigns.
The Hoops, who eliminated Hibernian 2-0 in the quarter-finals, will want to stay the distance as they target a domestic treble for the ninth time in their illustrious history, having already lifted the Premier Sports Cup and boast an unassailable advantage at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Standing between them and another Hampden finale are 2020/21 winners St Johnstone. The Saints relished lifting the silverware for just the second time four years ago, as they became the only side to break the Old Firm’s monopoly on the trophy in the last eight years.
Simo Valakari’s Perth-based side, who eliminated Livingston to reach the last-four, will be resolute they can upset the odds once again at Hampden in a top-versus-bottom encounter and despite having not got the better of the top-flight leaders since 2016 in all competitions.
This classic Scottish Cup semi-final tie is sure to be a compelling encounter, and supporters can pre-order this ‘must have’ piece of cherished memorabilia.
The official match-day publication of the SFA is a spine-bound B5-size 68-page commemorative edition and is available for £5, plus post and packaging to a UK address.
