Sheffield United’s commemorative new book reliving the journey back to the Premier League hit shelves in the ‘Steel City’ in early June.
Ignition Sports Media, who are long-standing producers of the club’s official matchday programme ‘Up the Blades’, were privileged to play their part in detailing the celebratory 2022/23 promotion campaign.
The spine-bound A4 landscape publication, entitled ‘Promotion is Soon’, is the perfect keepsake to recall a truly remarkable campaign, including the promotion-clinching night against West Bromwich Albion, an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley and the trophy parade through Sheffield’s streets.
The book, which includes a foreword by club icon Tony Currie, also features a reflection from boss Paul Heckingbottom and a dozen exclusive feature-length interviews from some of the stars who made the elevation back to the top-flight a reality.
Sheffield United’s Programme Editor Matthew Young was delighted with the finished product, saying: “Having enjoyed a long and successful working relationship producing the matchday programme alongside Ignition, there was never any question of working with the team on the book, especially considering the impressive production of our last promotion in 2019.
“Working with Ignition’s senior production team on the design concepts was a pleasure, and I knew this would ensure a quality production. The product arrived on time and within an impressive timescale following completion and every aspect of the job, from start to finish, was seamless. The book caps off a memorable season for the club.”
Supporters wishing to purchase the £20 tome can do so from the Blades Superstore at Bramall Lane and the club’s shop at Meadowhall.
